I’m able to post a bit earlier today as I managed to get my shot during my lunch. I wasnt planning on this shot, but it turned out much better that other shots I’d taken. So decided to run with it. It was absolutely freezing today – so was struggling to a.) using the cameras buttons and b.) hold the camera steady enough to get the shot. I’d spent a little while taking my other shots – but was struggling to focus them due to the low angles needed to get the shot. I came across this on the way home and fortunately I only need a few shots to get the one I wanted, so I didn’t spend too long in (what felt like) sub-zero temperatures. That being said, my new winter coat arrived today, not in time for this trip, but I’ll be better prepared for tomorrows trip. I was hoping to get out again tonight but the weather has taken a turn for the wet – so I think I’ll stay indoors! When I opened up the images on my laptop I was really pleased how sharp the buds in the picture are, and the overall contrast between the red and the green works really well. I love the detail that’s come through on the central bud. I’m very happy with the shot today considering I don’t have a macro lens yet – it’s on my wish list, with about another 100 things! I do quite like taking macro shots, but my 18-55mm lens doesn’t really allow me to get too close to capture all the detail I wanted, but this worked out really well.
Yesterday was a record day for “likes” on my blog (yes I know its only been 5 days!) but thank you to everyone that’s reading my blog, and “liking” it. Even though I’m doing this for my own benefit really, it’s nice to know other people out there are interested!
Thanks for taking time to read this one too!
